Under the EU's REACH regulation, hazardous chemicals manufactured in the EU or imported must be accompanied by a safety data sheet.

These contain information on properties and hazards, instructions for handling, disposal and transport, and first-aid, fire-fighting and exposure control measures.

This initiative will:

• align the data sheets with new UN requirements and requirements for nanomaterials
• clarify certain aspects on information issued by poison centres.
